Drawing inspiration from the Rubik’s Cube, designer George Bosnas of Anesis has created Rubika – a bookcase.

Anesis, meaning comfort in Greek, is a design manufacturer of contemporary furniture based in Thessaloniki, Northern Greece. Keeping furniture manufacturing and people as its core value, Anesis is creating experimental and complicated furniture designs.

The Rubik’s Cube was invented by Hungarian professor of architecture Prof. Erno Rubik in 1970’s. Being the most sold iconic toy there is no doubt that it is still a source of design inspiration for many designers. Architects inspired by the cube have come up with design like staircase block in Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Rubik’s Cube Museum in Hungary.

Wood and furniture designer George Bosnas from Anesis was the next to get inspired. The bookcase developed in Rubik Cube style is quite a furniture statement itself due to its 3D effect.

Functional bookcase for everyday items

From the designer –

“We turn the cube and it twists us”

‘Rubika, created in the spirit of modernism, adds some visual delight to a standard bookcase by giving it the look of a three-dimensional cube. The wooden bookcase is designed to exhibit the home items you are most fond of and at the same time to get things organised.’

Available in 2 sizes, the colorful bookcase will surely lit up the space it’s added into.
