Prague based Atelier 111 Architekti design a cottage near a pond serving as vacation home in Vysočina, Czech Republic.
Abiding by local construction rules, the 50 m2 built-up space consists of four small blocks rising to a height of 5 mts. The kitchen and the bedroom face the nearby pond, whereas the living room opens to oak groves. Out of the four blocks, a separate block acting as storage room has a covered porch for drying fishing nets.
A separate block serves as storage space on one side, a covered porch on pond-side
Built entirely from wood, the open spatial arrangement of the house turns it into a modern contemporary abode. Minimal furniture assists in clear circulation and adds to the richness and warmth on the interiors in this vacation home. Large, full height windows allow the picturesque environment to flood every space.

From the architect –
Inspired by traditional fisherman´s cabins, we designed a small cabin on a bank of a pond, which is surrounded by a picturesque scenery. Its size is limited by the legislation. The maximum built-up area 50 m2 and maximum height of 5 meters require a special ground-plan solution for a family holiday house.

The object consists of four small masses, three of which are connected and one separated, standing nearby. The central space is accessed by a minimal entrance through the kitchen and nearby dining space, which also has a built in component of a rather small attic space intended to be a sleeping space for children.
