Moscow city based Design Rocks studio style up the interiors of a two-level industrial loft into a cosy, warm space.
With an area of 120 sq. meters, the designers planned out a clutter-free layout for the young family. The apartment has some interesting geometry of the walls and metal beam ceiling. The ground floor has the living room, dining room, kitchen, guest bathroom and study bedroom filled with shades, textures and natural wood.
Black metal furniture in contrast with poured concrete floor
A few industrial style features such as concrete poured floor, brushed black metal, smoky glass on the balcony and stairs are a part of this modern residence. The black and grey color splash is well balanced out with use of natural wood throughout the interiors.
Cosy, refreshing living space
Accents like yellow pouf, wallpaper with horses, as well as vases of intricate shape are advantageously contrasted with them. The resultant interiors reflect a relaxed, cosy and pleasant mood throughout the loft apartment.

From the Architects –
The project of interior design with an area of 120 square meters, we have developed for a young family. We decided to leave the layout of the two-level space free. On the ground floor there is a living area, a dining room and a kitchen.

Bar separates the kitchen finished in grey and brushed metal finish
The kitchen is separated from the dining room by the bar. The composition of the dining area was a table with a wooden tabletop and chairs from Shake.
The highlight of both zones was their thoughtful lighting – it was realized by embedding linear luminaires in black lamellas. With them, the interior looks graphical and stylish, which is emphasized by black metal beams on the sloping ceiling.
Recreation area –
In the recreation area, there is a wood fireplace from Focus and a Pixel sofa, where you can comfortably sit with a book or watch movies. This zone is complemented by a massive bookcase made according to our sketches, as well as an extraordinarily attractive soft carpet.
Bookcase behind the sofa also stores wooden logs
In general, the color solution turned out to be rather laconic: the gamma is formed by calm natural colors – gray, white, brown, black, with a predominance of natural textures. On the 1st floor there is also a guest bathroom and an office.

Moscow city loft – Second floor
The second floor is designed in light beige shades. It draws attention to the interior design of the bedroom with a roof window, a stylish master bathroom, as well as a spacious, built-in wardrobe under the stairs with white polished facades.

Despite the industrial nature of the style, we made the space as warm and cozy as possible. We used a lot of natural wood in the decoration of the rooms – the floors, ceiling cladding, walls, furniture elements and the staircase under which the built-in wardrobes are located are partially made of oak.

Also, textiles in pleasant shades and textures bring to the interior elements of relaxation and positive mood. These techniques perfectly get along with such features of the loft as a concrete self-leveling floor, the use of brushed black metal, smoky glass on the balcony and staircase fence. Such accents as a yellow pouf, wallpapers with horses, as well as intricate vases contrasts with them favorably.
